There really is no competition in the console space anymore is there.  I mean sure there's exclusives but like each company knows who their audience is and exclusives aren't really there to take customers away from the other companies.  During the xbox and 360 times I was HUGE into them and 100% was a Microsoft fan.  I bought an Xbox One and I never touched it, and I honestly don't even know where it is cause it's been through a few moves lol.  I have a gaming PC, and they release everything that's on Xbox on PC also, why would I need to buy a console even though I prefer console gaming in general to PC gaming?

Hopefully that wasn't just a bunch of rambling lol I just woke up and am very seepy still

$100 and you don't even get the controller? How can Nintendo make bluetooth replicas of previous gen consoles but not for the Virtual Boy?

It's super neat, and I do agree it's cool, but I'm going to have to pass unless I can get one for a cheaper price. I'm also not paying $20 for cardboard.

Come on @CreepinDeth, you need to buy the $20 cardboard LOL.    For me in my current household state, I'm 100% ok not having another controller.  Just adapt the Wii controller or pro controller to this process and done.  I'd be happy with that. 

I've really dialed back the spending on game nostalgia, but this is a must have for me. It'll likely get encased in acrylic and never be used but it'll look pretty on a shelf.

$100 is salty... for sure... but I'm going to get this.  For me, this is a shut up, Nintendo and take my money.

I'm sure it's a long shot and doubt it will happen.   However, I'm really hoping they make new games for the Virtual Boy.  Nintendo COULD do this... how awesome would it be if they brought out new games for it?

I feel like Microsoft in general wants to move away from console gaming.  Everything is available on PC either way right?  I feel like they're just resigning to their fate in the gaming space for PC.  Nintendo has the handheld market.  Sony has the consoles. 

100% - They've blended so well with the PC market, I think they've done this to themselves.  HOWEVER, it also somewhat makes sense as they have Windows 11.  Over the last many years, they've been trying to get closer to the everything OS, they may have done just that by merging their gaming platform.

I keep seeing info that Microsoft is ending the XBOX console. I never liked a gaming market with a limited amount of choices for gaming. Competition is good. The 80's and 90's is a good example of the way I like it, everybody putting out handhelds, everybody putting out consoles. The market stayed shaken up.

100% as well - competition is good.  I've mentioned it in other threads and specifically in this gen 9 console thread.  Many industries and business segments have gone to rubber stamping and micro improvements.  Who can blame them though?  Anything unique and cool generally sells for a ridiculous amount of money.  Look at cars, long gone are unique looking cars... even higher end cars literally look the same.  Long gone are the unique consoles ... and I think that's in fear of losing.  Especially losing when swinging for the fences on a new idea. 


Has Microsoft released many 1st party titles in the recent past?  You used to have Microsoft game studios, they bought Rare and others... I might be missing it, I just don't see them capitalizing on some of these ventures like they used to try.
